i am experiencing housing discrimination

In Detroit, landlords cannot discriminate against tenants based on their race, color, religious beliefs, national origin, age, marital status, disability, public benefit status, sex, sexual orientation, or gender identity or expression.

This resource from Michigan Legal Help details what discrimination in rental housing can look like.

The Fair Housing Center of Metro-Detroit protects people from discrimination when seeking to rent or buy a housing unit. If you suspect that you are experiencing or have experienced housing discrimination, a complaint can be made online, by calling 1-(313)-579-3247, or by emailing info@fairhousingdetroit.org.

Do you think a landlord is discriminating against you because you have a housing voucher?

This is illegal. Detroit city code prohibits rental discrimination based on “public benefit status."
